Kareena Kapoor is the new stunt girl miss Bollywood
Bollywood has seen many daring actors like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan, do the dare devil stunts themselves. These daring acts have probably inspired the hot actress Kareena Kapoor to try her hand at stunts too.
Recently, Bebo has performed a stunt herself in the entry scene of Golmaal 3. She had to stand on the bonnet of a car in motion for that particular sequence.
According to an eye witness on the sets, “For this scene, Kareena was required to keep her expressions right while maintaining her balance on the bonnet of the car.”
Kareena insisted on doing the stunt herself as long as the director, Rohit Shetty drove the car. She was strapped with a harness and had a support but it was not that easy as the car was taking turns. It was a very difficult stunt indeed.”
On her stunt performance, Kareena said, “The shooting experience was absolutely thrilling. Rohit explained to me in detail about my entry sequence, which was planned this way. I am not worried when he is around. The shoot looks wonderful in the final take.”
Well, Kareena has managed to do her job wonderfully, without getting hurt. This act of the lady may inspire other leading ladies to perform their own stunts too. We are waiting to see that wonderful entry of Kareena’s when the movie releases.
Raavan’ Nosedives, Makes ‘Kites’ look better
Till just a few days back, the industry was smiling with the blockbuster success of ‘Rajneeti’. However, the smiles have vanished all over again with ‘Raavan’ turning out to be disaster at the box office. Wait, before we delve into the box office fate of the film, let’s also talk about the film by itself. The fact remains that this Mani Ratnam directed film is disastrous even from the content and execution perspective. Certain films have good content but get marred by poor execution. Some films have a decent execution but the script doesn’t contain much meat to take them through. However, when the combination of both these factors turns out to be poor, there is nothing that can salvage the situation. This is what happened in case of ‘Raavan’ where the coming together of names like Mani Ratnam, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, A.R. Rahman, Gulzar and Big Pictures just couldn’t help the cause. The film received poor all around response. Audience, industry folks, trade and critics – there was just no liking for this extravagant affair that was strong only from its technical perspective. Worse, for all its claims of originality, ‘Raavan’ was nothing but the coming together of Subhash Ghai’s ‘Khalnayak’ and Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘Jungle’. Though both these films were entertaining, ‘Raavan’ wasn’t and it showed in the box office collections.
As predicted last week, a good opening was never on the cards for ‘Raavan’. It was stated that the film would require at least 70% opening and sustained word of mouth to do anything worthwhile at the box office. However, as it turned out, ‘Raavan’ had a below average opening of 50% across the country and that is now staring at the bottom of the barrel due to an out and out negative word of mouth. Few lovers of art can still be seen patronising the film, but sadly such numbers are miniscule.
The way ‘Raavan’ is currently performing, it is all set to score far less than the last big budgeted disaster – ‘Kites’. The Hrithik Roshan starrer had managed a very good opening weekend (30 crores) for itself despite poor word of mouth and reviews. However, for ‘Raavan’ it would indeed be a task to reach the 30 crores mark even after the completion of one full week, with less than 20 crores coming in after the closure of first weekend. Moreover, from second week onwards it is only expected to go further downhill despite no competition.
All in all, yet another sad outing for Abhishek Bachchan after ‘Delhi 6′ as both the films were placed entirely on his shoulders. As for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, she would now have to look forward to the release of ‘Action Replayy’ and ‘Guzaarish’ to hunt for that elusive hit.

Katrina has revealed a very different side when it came to acting. Now, she is planning to launch her own business firm for the marketing of films.
Katrina Kaif, is busy shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi in Spain. She is missing the Mumbai rains as she loves the smell of the wet earth on a rainy day. Thereafter, she will leave for London to shoot for Dostana 2 with John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan.
However, Katrina is not just keeping herself content with a handful of films. She is very serious about starting the film marketing firm. In fact, she has started looking for an appropriate location for her office. She is on a look out for an office area located, somewhere between Bandra and Andheri.
Speaking about this new business, Katrina said, “I am just waiting for the guidance of my friends and colleagues about the project. I want to start the marketing division as soon as possible. Film marketing will be a challenging job for me. It is very exciting and I am eager to know how strategies are made for selling the products to the audience as well as the market.
Why this decision of movie marketing? The Bollywood queen said that her love for numbers has inspired her to take this up. According to her, she can easily remember the collection data of movies by heart. It helps her to know, which films are doing good business at the box office.
Katrina is planning to appoint experienced people in her firm, those who can help her. She is confident of bringing a ‘highly professional attitude’ to the business.
The lady is also very aware of the importance of film marketing these days. She said, a lot of movies are released every week, in the theatres, which also include a good number of Hollywood movies. Marketing it properly is very important because it helps to bring in a good opening collection and make it stand out.
Asin hate to pair with Salman Khan
The South Indian Film Federations had protested against the IIFA awards function, held in Colombo. They boycotted the awards function organized by the Sri Lankan Government which had mercilessly murdered thousands of innocent Tamilians. The Tamil organizations also banned the actors and actresses who participated in the function. But a few actors like Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan paid no heed and went ahead with their participation.
Hrithik Roshan’s Kites was ousted from the theatres in South India as a result.
Salman Khan is currently acting in a film which has Asin paired with him. The Sri Lankan Government has invited the producer to shoot this film in Sri Lanka. So the film which was to be shot in Mauritius was relocated to Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan Government has extended all facilities for the shooting of this film because Salman Khan had participated in the IIFA,.
But now there is a protest going on against Asin because of her pairing up with Salman. Lots of people are calling her up, on her cell phone, and requesting her not to act in this film.
The Salman Khan film Ready will not be screened in the five states of South either.
Asin, while speaking about this said, “I also got the invitation to participate in the IIFA. But respected the emotions and sentiments of the Tamil people and boycotted that function. But the producer here, has only signed me to act in the film Ready. I have given my call sheet to act in his film.”
Aishwarya Rai act with Brad Pitt
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a familiar name in Hollywood now. She has been brand ambassador for various international brands like Longines, L’Oreal Paris and has also acted in Hollywood projects like the Pink Panther 2, Mistress of Spices, The Last Legion etc.
But the beauty queen has recently refused a Hollywood film, featuring Brad Pitt. She is in high demand among the Hollywood filmmakers but the lady has her hands full with Bollywood projects now. However, she clarified the reason behind her rejection. Aishwarya said, “I was not showing attitude or anything; it is just for the lack of time. My time will be taken up by my Bollywood projects which mean that I cannot do justice to any project in Hollywood right now.”
Earlier also, the actress has rejected the film Troy with Brad Pitt. However, the reason was quite different then. At that time, Aishwarya had said, “I am not comfortable doing those intimate scenes with Brad Pitt. There are lots of kisses and explicit lovemaking scenes. I am not comfortable at all.”
Aishwarya had also refused doing other Hollywood projects like Hancock and Seven Pounds. In fact, the Hollywood director Brett Ratner wanted to cast her in Rush Hour.
Speaking about her international projects, the actress quipped, “In a press conference in India, Michael Douglas confessed that he had brought a script for me. Will Smith was also generous enough to persuade me twice for Hancock and Seven Pounds.”
So, the ‘desi girl’ Aishwarya is not willing to move towards Hollywood now. It is definitely good news for Bollywood and her Indian fans!
Salman Khan becomes Deepika’s bodyguard
If all goes well, then Salman Khan may turn out to be the bodyguard of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone! Don’t get confused, he is very much into acting and it will be for the sake of a film only. There is a speculation that the Hindi remake of the South Indian director Siddique’s Malayalam film Bodyguard, will be cast will Deepika Padukone opposite the Wanted star Salman Khan. The Malayalm version of the film was released in March. The leading South Indian director Siddique wrote and directed the film himself.
The story of the film deals with a young man, who gets attracted to people, with heroic qualities and follows them like a bodyguard. But, the interesting twist comes when he is hired to accompany a businessman’s gorgeous daughter to college as a real bodyguard.
In the Malayalam version of Bodyguard, South Indian actors Dileep and Nayantara were in the lead roles. Currently, the director is busy with the Tamil version of the film, which stars Asin and the South superstar Vijay.
Many other filmmakers approached Siddique but only Atul Agnihotri managed to get the rights for the Hindi version of the film. Siddique will take up the role of the director and writer in the Hindi version after completing the Tamil one.
Salman Khan has confirmed playing the lead role but Deepika is not sure yet. Atul informed that they were still working on the script. He added, “We are still completing other important tasks before we decide on signing the actors.”
Atul said that the shooting of the film will commence on December 6 in Ranikhet.
